Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How much does it cost for photojournalistic wedding photos?

The first question asked is usually how much does a wedding photographer cost. For photojournalism-type coverage of your wedding and reception, our all-inclusive price is $4,500. This top quality service includes one photographer for one unlimited day, digital processing time, camera rental and other expenses for a local wedding. We can provide a quote for special needs upon request. More precisely, our rates can be varied as follows:
Do you charge overtime for long days?

No. We were never paid extra by news magazines for exceptionally difficult assignments. There is no reason to change that now. Our "day rate" extends into the wee hours of the morning if needed. You will benefit from "110%" of our focused effort and capabilities.

Can you do last minute weddings?

Yes, absolutely! A true photojournalist has a lifetime of experience racing to the airport at the last minute to spontaneously document events as they unfold. Whether the other photographer you booked "flaked out" or you just won the lottery, we accel at spontaneous coverage of weddings and other events. We can be reached most any time by voice or txt msg to mobile phone number (917) 834-nine seven nine three.

Why should we hire you?

There are very few true photojournalists who apply their abilities to weddings. There is a certain comfort in knowing that the photojournalist in whose hands you are placing the most important event of your lifetime has also been entrusted to photograph the most famous people in the world.

Do we own the pictures?

One great benefit of digital photography is that everyone can get exact copies of the originals. As the creators, we will own the copyright to the images. You will get the unlimited right to use the images in perpetuity. In essence, you'll be able to do whatever you want for as long as you want with the images. And, you'll have the high resolution digital files to share with whomever you want.

How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?

As soon as you like. One option can add a team member to upload images online as they are created, or even display "live" coverage to attendees on screens around the event.

Can you make prints and albums?

We have relationships with printers and album makers, both online and offline, who can provide these services at various price levels. We will facilitate and guide that process to the degree that you would like us to help. We can set it up and provide editing, design and page layout if you would like us to do so.

Can you build a web site of our wedding photos?

Yes. We have built dozens of web sites. We can work with you to get the right look and feel, to secure a domain name for you, and make it all happen as you like.

Will you photograph the formal portraits also?

Traditional wedding photography is a very different skill from photojournalism. Ideally, two photographers are needed - one for the posed images and one for the spontaneous, canded images. We recommend hiring a different photographer if you need traditional, formal, posed images. We will then coordinate with that photographer to make sure you have everything you need. And, we can help you select that photographer if you like.

Can you do unusual events?

Yes. We can adapt to your needs and help you come up with some unusual ideas. Remote control cameras from unique points of view. Organizing attendees with instant cameras to photograph their personal circle. Live display of digital images at the reception. Weddings in exceptionally unusual locations. The uniqueness of wedding photography by a photojournalist is limited only by one's imagination, and our imagination is extensive.

Why do you need to rent cameras?

Because technology is evolving so rapidly, an expensive camera today is obsolete in about 18 months. To always provide the best quality and best technology, we've found it to be more cost effective to rent rather than own the equipment needed to document a wedding to the best of our abilities.

Can you do weddings outside of the USA?

Yes. As photojournalists, we have traveled to dozens of countries. Randy Taylor is proficient in English, French, Spanish and Portugues. Dagmar, another New York-based photojournalist on the team, was born in German and speaks German. Please do ask us about photographing foreign events.

May I see a picture of you?

Yes. There are several pictures of Randy Taylor, together with a history of photojournalism experience, at www.RandyTaylor.com.

How do we get started?

Simple. Give us a call or txt msg to mobile phone number (917) 834-nine seven nine three. We'll meet in person or by phone or Skype video conference.
